AI dubbing
AI dubbing replaces the speech in a video with a translation spoken by a synthetic voice and timed to the original. A full pass separates the voice from music and effects, works out who is speaking, translates each line, voices it, and mixes it back over the original background. Good dubbing keeps each speaker’s own voice, cloned from the source, so a two-person interview still sounds like two people. It also keeps the music and laughter, and fits each translated line into the time the original took, which often means a tighter translation rather than a faster voice. Subtitles translate the words; dubbing lets viewers watch without reading.
In a HypeNest pass
In the HypeNest Clip Editor, Dubbing translates a clip into English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, or Chinese. Each speaker keeps a cloned voice or gets a library voice; every line shows whether it fits the original timing, and you can edit it, change the pace, and balance dubbed voice against original sound before downloading each language version.
FAQ
- Is AI dubbing the same as voice cloning?
- Cloning is one step of it. Dubbing also translates, times, and mixes the lines; cloning only makes a voice sound like a specific person. Without cloning, a dub uses a stock voice per speaker.
- Which videos dub well?
- Clear speech over a background that can be separated: interviews, podcasts, tutorials, talking-head clips. Heavy crosstalk is harder, because overlapping voices are difficult to pull apart.
